Rico Bernasconi (born December 31, 1970 in Fröndenberg, bourgeois Alfonso Bernasconi), also known as Rico Bass, is a German house DJ with Italian roots.

Bernasconi is active as a DJ since 1986. During his career he used until 2008 the pseudonym Rico Bass and was or is a member of the bands BoomTown, Master Blaster and Vinylshakerz. With these bands he has several high chart positions in Europe. Since 2008, he appears only under the stage name Rico Bernasconi. With his first single released in 2009 under this alias, Love Deep Inside, which also reached number one on the VIVA Club Rotation Dance Charts, he reached for the first time as a solo artist, the German single charts. In the same year he was able to increase this, as he resumed cover version of Cruel Summer together with Ace of Base and reached # 69 in the German single charts. After that, many more tracks were released, which also regularly achieve high rankings in the German dance charts. However, one of his songs was only commercially successful again in 2015. The single Ebony Eyes was his biggest success so far and reached # 28 on the German single charts. Bernasconi is known for publishing cover songs in particular. He also produced a few titles himself. He was co-founder of Airbase Recordings in 2004, and released several of his early releases. He releases most of his singles on Starshit Records and Kontor Records.
